Safe use of Oleander and Oleandrin in Dogs

Nerium oleander extracts contain oleandrin as the key active ingredient. They have found a wide range of uses in humans but have not been used in veterinary medicine.

As a step in that direction, safety studies were conducted in healthy beagles. We are glad to report that Nerium oleander extracts can be safely orally administered to dogs at therapeutic levels that are extremely low yet very effective. Check out our publication in JAVMA.
